HOW YOU CAN WALK INTO YOUR DAY CONFIDENTLY WITH THE PRESCHOOL ACADEMY

The above question sends shivers down my spine! I have certainly had days where I thought I have sooo many years experience I am just going to wing it today!

These are the days that don’t tend to run so well.

Not having a plan for the daily really leaves you floundering in the BIG picture – longterm goals…

Maybe you have heard people say – oh “let them follow their interests”….

Somehow though you feel like you would just like a little more direction than that.

I know I certainly have at least wanted a SIMPLE plan

You lose sight of what you want the children to achieve in the long run if you are simply chasing interests.

There is so much pressure now on early learning professionals to go with interests and plan based on the children’s needs.

This is the right thing to do….

Do you remember a simpler day when you could plan from developmental needs and from the learning domains?

I believe we need to do both….

Somewhere along the line we have lost this.

It becomes hard to plan for interests off of a whim.

My approach in The Preschool Academy is by all means go for interests – and this is my aim.

When you join The Preschool Academy we start with The Animal Project….

10 interests – Farm, Zoo, Pets, Sea, Safari, Rainforest, Minibeasts, Birds, Australian Animals, Endangered Animals

BUT – we will have literacy, numeracy, gross motor, fine motor, nature, music all part of the experience.

Domains of learning help to keep you looking at the child as a whole. When a child does show an interest having ideas that meet a range of domains is important.

This is why when I start a PROJECT each week addresses all the domains.

Importantly each week builds and you can collect resources that you can practice with your BABY, TODDLER and PRESCHOOLER.

So often we just consume resources so quickly.

We print them off, children use them once and we are onto the next thing.

But we need to expose children over and over to simple concepts from a young age to make the most difference….
